GUATEMALA, TRE GIORNI DI DIGIUNO IN UNA CHIESA EVANGELICA.
La religione evangelica ha raggiunto un numero altissimo di fedeli in molte aree del centro e sud America. Agisce soprattutto in situazioni di miseria e ignoranza. A Coban, un paese rurale della zona centrale del Guatemala, i fedeli realizzano tre giorni di digiuno e preghiera in chiesa. Il terzo giorno molti fedeli, aiutati dalla musica, dal digiuno e dalle parole incalzanti del cerimoniere entrano in una specie di trans.
GUATEMALA, THREE DAYS OF FASTING IN AN EVANGELICAL CHURCH.
The evangelical religion has reached a very high number of believers in many parts of Central and South America. It works especially in situations of poverty and ignorance. In Coban, a rural town in the central area of Guatemala, the members carry three days of fasting and prayer inside the church. On the third day many of the faithful enter a kind of trans, aided by the music, the fasting and the strong words of the pastor.
