Il “castello” di Sir Edward James, l’ inglese, é un’opera d’arte di stampo surrealista realizzata nella giungla di Xilitla, Huasteca Potosina. Edward James é stato un ricco e nobile mecenate, nonchè artista Surrealista. Ha finanziato molte opere di Dali, comprando varie tele dell’artista e vendendole durante la costruzione del castello in cui ha dato fondo a quasi tutti i suoi averi. I lavori di edificazione, iniziati nel 47, sono durati circa vent’ anni, fino alla morte dell’artista, che lascia l’opera incompleta. Attualmente il giardino é aperto al pubblico ed é di proprietà del governo e dell’impresa Cemex.

The “castle” of Sir Edward James, the English man, is a surrealistic work realized in the jungle of Xilitla, the Huasteca Potosina, in Mexico. Edward James was a wealthy and noble man, also was a Surrealist artist. He has financed many works of Dali, buying several artist’s paintings and selling them during the construction of the castle in which he finish almost all his possessions. The construction began in the year 47, the work took about twenty years, until his death, which leaved the incomplete work. Currently the garden is open to the public and is owned by the government and the concrete company Cemex.
