Quarna Sotto é un paese di cinquecento abitanti sulla montagna che si affaccia sul lago d’Orta, Piemonte, Italia. Qui una antica azienda artigianale costruisce i sassofoni che sono andati e vanno fra le mani dei maggiori artisti del mondo. La Ramponi & Cazzani fu fondata nel 1818 e si impose immediatamente per la sua produzione di altissima qualità. Dal 1990 la ditta è condotta artigianalmente dalla famiglia Zolla, discendente dai Ramponi da parte di madre, ed opera in un’unica sede a Quarna Sotto, paese d’origine del fondatore.
Quarna Sotto is a village of five hundred inhabitants on the mountain overlooking Lake Orta, Piedmont, Italy. Here an ancient handicraft company builds saxophones that have gone and go in the hands of the greatest artists in the world. The Ramponi & Cazzani was founded in 1818 and was an immediate success for its production of high quality. Since 1990, the company is led in a handcrafted way by the Zolla family, descending from Ramponi mother’s side, and operates at a single location in Quarna Sotto, the country of origin of the founder.
