Trani – Carcere Femminile.

“Made In Carcere” (Made In Prison) is a project initiated by Luciana Delle Donne, a top manager who left her job to dedicate her skills to support disadvantaged people. She was able to create a tailor workshop where prisoners cut bags out of recycled and waste material. But ‘Made In Carcere’ is a lot more than that. It is a sustainable development model and a real rehabilitation for the detainees involved. “The idea was to demonstrate that one could generate change by via work in certain sectors which are the environment and social sectors.” says Luciana. “The environment because we collect all the scraps that are leftover inside textile warehouses and social because what we do, as our brand ‘Made in Carcere’ indicates, is employ a workforce inside prisons, in particular women. “Made in Carcere” is a project currently active in Lecce and Trani prisons.
