La gestione del Campo rom Castel Romano è in gran parte affidata alle cooperative di Salvatore Buzzi arrestato per associazione mafiosa con altre 37 persone. Il campo, situato sulla Pontina al km 24 in direzione Roma, è stato realizzato in «emergenza» nel 2007. Nel campo vivono 189 famiglie e nel 2013 è costato 5.354.788 euro. Il costo per ogni famiglia è stato di 27.044 euro.
