Il calzolaio della Formula 1, tesoro umano UNESCO

Francesco Liberto, alias Ciccio, ciabattino sin dall’età di sei anni, è attualmente iscritto dall’UNESCO fra i Tesori Umani Viventi nel Libro dei Saperi del Registro delle Eredità  Immateriali. Una biografia eccezionale che dalla piccola cittadina siciliana di Cefalù, attraverso la sua capacità e la passione per la formula 1, lo ha condotto a calzare i piedi dei grandi campioni, da Niki Lauda a Vic Elford, Mario Andretti, Brian Redman, Ignazio Giunti, Carlos Reutemann, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni, Jo Siffert, Jackie Ickx, Renè Arnoux, Gerald Larousse, Auturo Merzario, Sandro Munari e non ultimo il siciliano Nino Vaccarella.  Dopo essere stato per un periodo fornitore ufficiale della scuderia Ferrari di formula 1, ha anche confezionato e creato le scarpe indossate dall’attore che ha interpretato il film sulla biografia di Niki Lauda diretto da Ron Howard. Le sue creazioni sono esposte nei musei, da quello della Ferrari a Maranello a quello della Porsche a Stoccarda, a quello dei fratelli Rossetti,  al museo Romans in Francia e al Deutsches Ledermuseum in Germania.
Francesco Liberto, also known as Ciccio, started to work as shoemaker when he was only six years old. Now because his talent he is registered with the UNESCO Living Human Treasures in the Book of Knowledge of the Register of Intangible Heritage, and his career is full of success. It’s quite amazing how he managed to become the shoemaker of the champions of formula 1 starting his job in the small Sicilian town of Cefalù.  Niki Lauda, Vic Elford, Mario Andretti, Brian Redman, Ignazio Giunti, Carlos Reutemann, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni, Jo Siffert, Jackie Ickx, Renè Arnoux, Gerald Larousse, Auturo Merzario, Sandro Munari and Nino Vaccarella, they all wore his shoes. He has been for a while the official shoemaker of Ferrari racing drivers and his creations are exposed in many museums: Ferrari museum in Maranello, Porsche museum in Stoccarda, as well as within  Rossetti brothers collection,   and in Romans museum in France and Deutsches Ledermuseum in Germania. He also created the shoes for the actor  starring as Niki Lauda in Ron Howard movie “Rush”.
