La bellissima spiaggia Messicana di Mayto rappresenta un’oasi felice per le tartarughe che vengono a deporre le uova in questa area. Le spiagge di questa zona sono ambite per la realizzazione di progetti turistici di ogni genere, ma se qui si può ancora godere di una spiaggia vergine è grazie alle quattro specie di testuggini che vengono qui a deporre le uova. Della classificazione dei nidi se ne occupano i volontari. In questa spiaggia vi e’ solo una struttura adibita a camping, ospita chiunque volesse imparare o aiutare i “tortugueros”, e rappresenta uno dei modi con cui i volontari si finanziano, non ricevendo alcun appoggio dallo stato.
