Come ogni anno la famiglia Colantuono lascia i caldi pascoli della Puglia per trasferire le mandrie nelle più fresche montagne Molisane, lungo i 180 chilometri del tracciato del vecchio tratturo, usato dai pastori durante la transumanza. La famiglia Colantuono è l’ unica che ancora pratica la transumanza rispettando le antiche tradizioni.
As every year Colantuono’s family leaves the hot land in Puglia, south Italy, to reach the more coolness mountains of Frosolone, walking with their flock for 180 kilometres throughout the way of ancient “tratturo” the only practicable road by the herds. The Colantuono are the only family still practicing the original long distance transhumance in Italy.
